Residents start to place foodscraps in their curbside yard debris carts in Milwaukie and Beaverton. 

When Portland started collecting food scraps at the curbside, I was delighted to empty my kitchen compost container into the yard debris roll cart instead of my backyard compost pile.

What’s not to love?? 

We have an important unsung hero helping our region fight climate change and turn food scraps into a renewable resource: Bacteria!
