A little about Julie:
Julie brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to service. She is a Northwest native, who loves to cook, be outdoors, and volunteer. Julie and her spouse are Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) having served together in the country of Burkina Faso, from 2012 – 2014. Julie worked on grassroots development projects, including a science camp, gender equality trainings, and working with food vendors on soy transformation and tofu making.
Before her foreign service, Julie worked for over three years with the City of Olympia in the Public Works Department and solid waste utility. She gave classroom presentations on the 3Rs and waste reduction, helped residents plan and organize zero waste events, and supported residential and commercial outreach efforts. (Sound familiar?)
Julie is excited to work with such a highly motivated network of volunteers.
“The commitment and continued enthusiasm around recycling and resource conservation is thrilling. I’m looking forward to making connections with veteran and newbie Master Recyclers!” —Julie
