Salary: $21.00/hour, $21,840 annual

Community Warehouse (CW) is a nonprofit furniture bank that redistributes donated furniture and household goods to neighbors in need. Through two locations (Portland and Tualatin) and referrals from over 200 partner agencies, the Warehouse helps families and individuals turn their empty housing into comfy homes. Families are able to pick out essential household items that help improve their quality of life at home. We also operate two Estate Stores that sell some donated items to support our mission and engage the community in shopping for a cause.

Position Summary:
Community Warehouse is seeking an energetic, highly motivated Volunteer Coordinator.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of developing a successful volunteer experience, including: recruitment, training, appreciation, ongoing development and advocacy of volunteers, and ensuring that volunteer activities run smoothly. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fluid, fast-paced, work environment and enjoys working with people from all walks of life.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Recruit volunteers for shifts in the furniture bank and Estate Stores at both locations (Portland and Tualatin).
Screen and onboard new volunteers.
Manage onboarding process in coordination with Department Managers.
Update volunteer documents as necessary (agreements, volunteer handbooks, training documents, etc).
Work closely with Estate Store and Warehouse Managers to coordinate, standardize and update volunteer processes and procedures. Provide ongoing support, training, and development.
Coordinate logistics for special volunteer events and projects.
Develop relationships with local businesses to provide volunteer opportunities for their employees.
Manage volunteer recognition and appreciation.
Communicate and check-in regularly with volunteers to keep them updated and engaged (face-to-face and newsletter communications).
Manage the web-based volunteer scheduling platform.
Perform administrative tasks related to volunteer activities.
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred 2+ years volunteer coordination at a nonprofit or position with similar responsibilities.
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Experience managing multiple programs/initiatives simultaneously.
Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work efficiently, think creatively, and maintain a sense of humor.

COVID-19 Working Conditions
Community Warehouse has been designated as an essential service and as such, continues to employ staff working onsite at both Warehouses. This position is expected to work onsite to adequately complete job duties, including face to face interactions with volunteers, with some flexibility to work from home as agreed upon with the supervisor. All staff are required to have up-to-date COVID vaccinations/boosters.
