Central City Concern is seeking a Recycling and Reuse Coordinator!
Summary: The Recycle and Reuse Coordinator is responsible for the Recycle and Reuse Operations Center’s (ROC) daily operations. This includes keeping the center well stocked with available items as well as working with the Donor Relations team to obtain needed items and ensuring the space is a well-organized, clean place for community members to get the items they need. This role must have excellent customer service skills and able to work with a diverse population.
Responsibilities include:
Greet all visitors at the ROC in a courteous, and professional manner.
Lead staff and central point of contact for CCC’s abandoned resident property and other property that can be recycled or reused, or has special disposal needs, including but not limited to clothing and textiles, kitchenware, furnishings, appliances, electronics, scrap metal, lightbulbs, ballasts, batteries, bicycles, and non-curbside recyclables.
Maintain systems for storage, processing, distribution and disposal of property.
Support role for incoming in-kind donations to CCC. Respond to inquiries from donors in a timely manner, coordinate receipt of in-kind donations, and work with CCC staff on obtaining needed items for their clients.
Chain Reaction Coordinator for bicycle reuse/client bicycle training partnership with bicycle nonprofit organization, including promoting Chain Reaction, managing referrals to the program, facilitating communication between CCC and Chain Reaction partners, and facilitating internal and external bike donation process.
Abilities:
A demonstrated ability to work independently, problem solve and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to display a non-judgmental attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to have empathy toward all people accessing the ROC.
Ability or willingness to learn how to de-escalate community members that may be upset, angry, disrespectful, etc.
Requirements:
Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience coordinating work of similar size and scope.
Must be able to drive Central City Concern vehicles in the course of employment required. Must possess a current driver’s license, pass a DMV background check and be designated an “acceptable” driver as outlined in Central City Concern’s Fleet Safety Policy.
