Clark County Public Health, Vancouver, WA is looking for an energetic, community-oriented people to fill a 6-month AmeriCorps position to help with Clark County Green Schools, Green Business and Master Composter / Recycler programs.
These positions pay a monthly living stipend, full health care coverage, a financial award toward further education upon successful completion, childcare assistance if eligible, and training and work experience opportunities.
Qualifications: Good organizational and communication skills. Self-starter. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends. Knowledge of environmental issues is a plus.
Position #1 - The Green Schools AmeriCorps member willengage the school community in regards to recycling and composting. They will support waste reduction efforts at schools through outreach and trainings for children and adults alike.
Position #2 - The Green Business AmeriCorps member will be responsible for educating the business community about recycling and composting opportunities. They will be delivering program materials and supporting waste reduction efforts at restaurants through outreach and employee trainings. This position will also assist with the Green Business recognition program and the Clark County Green Awards.
Position #3 - The Master Composter Recycler AmeriCorps member will educate Clark County citizens about the benefits of composting, recycling, and waste reduction through participation in community outreach, workshops, and events.
Position start/end date: 12/1/2016 – 5/30/2016
Age requirement: 18 – 25 years per AmeriCorps guidelines.
