Good News Master Recyclers!
Last month, I shared that the Association of Oregon Recyclers (AOR) was offering a one-year free full membership to Master Recyclers who have fulfilled 30 hours of volunteering and have certified on or after March 1, 2019. AOR is a nonprofit trade association that has advanced recycling and waste prevention in Oregon through its membership base since 1977.
Several of you questioned why the offer was only for the most recent graduates. I was not sure. I asked AOR, and they have now decided to offer the one-year free full membership to all certified Master Recyclers, regardless of what year you completed your 30 hours!

¡Buenas noticias Expertos en reciclaje!
El mes pasado, compartí que la Asociación de Recicladores de Oregón (AOR) estaba ofreciendo una membresía completa gratuita por un año a los Maestros Recicladores que hayan cumplido 30 horas de voluntariado y se hayan certificado a partir del 1 de marzo de 2019. AOR es una asociación comercial sin fines de lucro que ha hecho avances en el reciclaje y la prevención de residuos en Oregón a través de su base de miembros desde 1977.
Varios de ustedes preguntaron por qué la oferta era sólo para los graduados más recientes. Yo no estaba segura entonces le pregunté a AOR y ahora han decidido ofrecer la membresía completa gratuita por un año a todos los Maestros Recicladores certificados, ¡sin importar en qué año completaron sus 30 horas!

Waste-Free Advocate’s Annual Meeting
Waste-Free Advocates invites you to their online Annual Meeting.
You’ll hear about a new campaign they’re launching to strengthen Oregon’s reuse culture by increasing its visibility. The campaign will rely heavily on volunteer engagement and is a great way to fulfill volunteer community hours. You’ll also hear about this year’s grant programs and more of what’s in store for next year. Also hear from Stacy Ludington, the Master Recycler Program Manager, about the last year’s program accomplishments.

Congratulations Class 88!
Another class of Master Recyclers graduated! Congratulations Class 88 in Washington County. What a fun time we had. We may have been a small class, but we were mighty and really connected. Thank you for all your hard work and I can't wait to celebrate your volunteering with you.

¡Se graduó otra clase de Expertos en Reciclaje! Felicitaciones Clase 88 en el condado de Washington. Qué bien la pasamos. Puede ser que éramos una clase pequeña, pero éramos poderosos y estábamos realmente conectados. Gracias por todo su arduo trabajo y no puedo esperar para celebrar su trabajo como voluntarios.

Carolyn Brown (Class 87)

These Master Recyclers have reached 30 hours and are now officially certified!
¡Estos Expertos en Reciclaje han llegado a las 30 horas y ahora están oficialmente certificados!
Carolyn Brown (Class 87) is now a certified Master Recycler and the first from Class 87 through North by Northeast Community Health Center to reach 30 hours. Carolyn wasted no time putting all she learned to use out in the community. She certified within a month! She’s helped friends and her church set up better recycling infrastructure and shared information on how to properly dispose of household hazardous waste. Her favorite places to volunteer, however, are Repair Fairs and Tool Libraries. Thank you, Carolyn, and congratulations!
Carolyn Brown (Clase 87) es ahora una Experta certificada en Reciclaje y la primera de la Clase 87 en North by Northeast Community Health Center en alcanzar las 30 horas. Carolyn no perdió el tiempo y puso en práctica todo lo que aprendió en la comunidad. ¡Se certificó en un mes! Ha ayudado a amigos y a su iglesia a establecer una mejor infraestructura de reciclaje y ha compartido información sobre cómo deshacerse adecuadamente de los desechos domésticos peligrosos. Desiree Leslie (Class 85)
Desiree Leslie (Class 85) is also certified now as a Master Recycler. She completed most of her 30 hours at Repair Fairs, including Estacada, Molalla, and Lake Oswego where she helped with her savvy computer skills. She also volunteered at the Sellwood Farmers Market, Gladstone Community Fair, the Clackamas County Fair, and at the James’ Recycling Event - Revolution Hall. She made a goal to certify by the end of summer and she did it. Thank you, Desiree!
Desiree Leslie (Clase 85) también está certificada ahora como Experta en Reciclaje. Completó la mayor parte de sus 30 horas en ferias de reparación, incluidas Estacada, Molalla y Lake Oswego, donde ayudó con sus conocimientos de informática. También trabajó como voluntaria en el mercado de agricultores de Sellwood, la feria comunitaria de Gladstone, la feria del condado de Clackamas y en el evento de reciclaje de James - Revolution Hall.
