Volunteer Opportunities
Join the Repair Movement in Gresham
The community group that organizes Gresham Repair Cafes would like to bring in additional people to help organize and run events. Pre-pandemic, this group organized up to three repair cafes each year at rotating locations across the city.
They are looking for folks that have an interest or background in organizing events, helping promote Repair Cafe events within the community through social media and networking. There is also potential interest in combining forces with swap and reuse/exchange events. No repair/fixing experience required.
If you're interested or have questions, please contact RepairCafeGresham@gmail.com
Volunteer Calendar
The Master Recycler volunteer calendar is pretty empty right now as we move into the holiday season, but that doesn’t mean opportunities aren’t out there!
Are you working on a project that could use another Master Recycler to help? Know a community group that would love to know more about waste reduction around the holidays? Most Master Recyclers fulfill their hours by instigating their own projects. Let me know if you need help.

Cecelia Warner reaches 3000 volunteer hours
Cecelia is what we call a super recycling educator—she may as well have a super hero cape with planet Earth on it. Congratulations to Cecelia Warner who has reached 3,000 volunteer hours! She’s been super busy lately developing her own presentations, flow-charts to help discern what kinds of plastics are recyclable, and displays. On top of all that, she’s still active with PlanetCon, farmers markets, serves as a mentor to new Master Recyclers, and has a talent for turning even a trip to the hairdresser as a recycling education moment. Thank you, Cecelia, for your dedication!
