Position Title: ReClaim It – Store Manager
Pay Scale: $20 per hour. Hours not to exceed 1560 hours per year, with maximum Annual compensation of $31,200.
Hours: 30 hours per week during store retail hours (Wed-Sun 12–5 with flexibility to cover other days/hours as needed)

Position Description
ReClaim It (“the store”) is a retail store operated by Cracked Pots, Inc., (CP) a nonprofit environmental arts organization devoted to waste reduction. The store sells objects and materials rescued/diverted from the waste stream to inspire people to reuse and reimagine them.
The Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing all ReClaim It store operations, from obtaining materials,through cleaning, storing, pricing, display. and sale of items. The Manager will work closely with all staff to ensure smooth store operations in both the front and back of the house.
This position requires self-motivation, initiative, problem-solving, and creativity. The Store Manager will need good communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, computer fluency, an outgoing personality, and a commitment to natural resource conservation. Ability to work as a team member is a must.

Primary duties/responsibilities
Oversee all store operations by providing supervision and direction to all store staff, including Materials Manager, RCI Social Media/Ecommerce Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, and other store employees, including interns.
Assume immediate responsibility for the store operations. Ensure that the retail floor is adequately staffed during open hours by coordinating with the Volunteer Coordinator. Mentor all volunteers working in front of store and assume their supervision after their third shift. Stay informed on which volunteers will be at ReClaim It each day to be sure they have a productive and positive experience.
Ensure that established pricing and cashiering policies and procedures are carried out by all staff and volunteers on a daily basis, bringing any concerns to the attention of your supervisor. Keep POS (point of sale) hardware and software in working order and up to date. Ensure the cashier area is clean, functional, and that all cashiers are adequately trained
Coordinate closely with the Materials Manager to:
ensure smooth flow of “floor-ready” priced merchandise from back room to the floor
identify sales trends and demand for certain gleaned or donated materials.
coordinate improvements to store layout and displays
Keep merchandise displayed safely, with clearly marked prices—whether individually priced or bulk priced. Adjust prices on items that have languished to keep items moving.
Make sure the store is safe to move about—clear aisles, no merchandise stacked precariously, and all items accessible to avoid risky actions. Monitor safety standards in all areas of the workplace, making sure volunteers are adhering to best practices.
Ensure that all volunteers are aware and mindful of the importance of honoring diversity, equity, and inclusion principles at all times—at the store and when representing Cracked Pots and ReClaim It in public. Hold volunteers accountable if their behavior is inappropriate, offensive, or insensitive.
Confirm store sale days and other store events, and make sure Social Media coordinators are apprised.
Manage Written and verbal communications:
Monitor the store email, as well as the store voicemail. on a daily basis, passing along messages as appropriate. Respond to emails/texts from the public, your supervisor, and other staff by the next working day.
Establish and maintain a method for all staff to post their schedules in a timely manner to ensure full coverage at all times.
Submit timesheet to your supervisor immediately after last working day of the month to ensure timely receipt of paycheck
Provide written store reports to the board as requested
Communicate and work cooperatively with all other staff to ensure everyone can contribute to the success of ReClaim It. Be flexible with different duties/tasks depending on need in an ever-changing work environment
Facilitate regular staff meetings, attend RCI Committee meetings, and attend monthly Board meetings.
Responsible for all other tasks listed on the more detailed Employee Task List.
Report Structure
It is the intent of Employer that both Employee and Employer commit to open communication and clear task assignments. Employee will report directly to the Board of Directors. The above-mentioned duties (or other tasks determined by the Board) will be directly assigned to the Store Manager.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
At least 2 years verifiable experience managing a retail environment
At least 2 years verifiable experience in providing direct supervision of employees
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Experience in retail merchandise display
Experience training, directing, and working with volunteers
Experience with, or knowledge of, second-hand/thrift-store pricing and selling strategies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated computer literacy
Experience with Point of Sale register software (Square)
Ability to think independently and problem solve when needed
Commitment to demonstrating patience and courtesy with the public and volunteers
Demonstrated commitment to recycling and reuse
Familiarity with Cracked Pots, ReClaim It, and its mission
Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds on an ongoing basis and knowledge about safe practices for moving heavy or unwieldy furniture and items
Capability and willingness to work in an environment that includes dirt, dust, and mold
