Position Description
New Dream seeks a highly motivated and experienced individual to become the organization’s Director of Online Media and Engagement. New Dream is a results-oriented, small-team organization that uses a collaborative leadership model for consensus-based decision-making. We are a virtual office with staff in Colorado and Virginia. This position can be remote. The start date is flexible, but ideally the position would start by April 2017.
New Dream helps engage citizens to come together to reduce consumption and build community. Our mission is to empower individuals, communities, and organizations to transform their consumption habits to improve well-being for people and the planet. Our current campaign areas are Kids and Commercialism, Simplify the Holidays, and SoKind Registry.
Primary Responsibilities
Overseeing and managing technical support for New Dream, including our CRM (Salsa), website updates, and working with website vendors
Overseeing all aspects of our email communications, including developing and sending e-blasts, coordinating our monthly e-newsletters, developing targeted autoresponders, and tracking online engagement
Designing, implementing, and maintaining strategies to significantly grow our online presence via email, web hits, and social media
Daily management of our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and others)
Planning, coordinating, and hosting the New Dream webinar series
Supporting program staff in implementing online media campaigns to encourage audience engagement and bring attention to New Dream's issues
Overseeing the management of other communication vehicles for New Dream’s messaging from infographics, webinars, videos, and more
Designing and implementing creative online fundraising campaigns to retain and significantly grow our donor base
Helping to identify areas for revenue development, models for growth, and new business partnerships for New Dream's alternative gift registry website, SoKind
Helping to design and track monitoring and evaluation systems for the organization
Keeping abreast of social media trends and online resources related to New Dream's issues, including following key sites and bloggers.
Qualifications
Extensive experience with organizing and implementing online campaigns
Experience with building web pages and designing online action pages
Proficiency in HTML
Strong understanding of back-end website and database management
Understanding of web and CRM analytics tools and processes
Experience with executing social media campaigns
Experience with managing Google Adwords accounts
Ability to work independently and capable of taking initiative on specific projects
A positive and flexible attitude
Detail-oriented disposition
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Excellent research skills
Experience with Craft/Wordpress, Salsa, Google Apps, and Adobe Creative Suite (or comparable graphic design software) is highly desirable
Graphic design and video production skills are highly desirable
Professional history reflecting interest in and knowledge of the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability
Schedule & Compensation
This is a paid position. The schedule will start at 20 hours per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time position (32 hours per week) and to receive benefits. New Dream is an equal opportunity employer.
